DUAL MONARCHY OF SPARTA

The Spartans are a re-enactment and live combat warband striving to recreate the fighting prowess, historical equipment and lively camaraderie of their namesake. Functioning under the auspices of the ASCA and SCA, Poliae (chapters) are growing rapidly in California, Idaho and Montana, with more on the way.

Close combat and historic reenactment is the main focus of our endeavors. We aim for the highest practical level of historical accuracy in our arms and armor as well as camp life. Crimson and bronze are our colors, spear and hoplon are our arms, and "Molon Labe!" is our warcry. See the Spartan history section to find out its meaning.

We welcome all enthusiasts of ancient Greek culture and encourage interested groups of five or more to start their own Polis. Support for the creation of new Poliae and expansion of existing ones is provided by the ASCA through subsidies of arms and armor to new members.
